In non psoriatic skin the cells grow and move to the surface where they are sloughed off at a steady unnoticeable rate, taking about 1 month.
In psoriatic skin, this cycle is speeded up to only 3 or 4 days ! As the skin thickens with extra cells, the blood vessels that support them grow larger in order to feed them. Dead skin cells pile up on the surface creating a white, flaky layer over the patch of inflamed skin.
To combat psoriasis, LHE targets the blood vessels that feed the abnormal growth of psoriatic skin cells.
